Dr. Xiaoyan Zhang is a sociologist, entrepreneur, and civic innovator whose work bridges cultures and generations. An initiator of DOI250AA and the National Conference commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act, he has built businesses, advised startups, and led both ethnic and mainstream organizations. A former Entrepreneur of the Year and national public health policy advisor, he has also served as Chair of UCA and Honorary Chair of ACUA.

Known for bringing people together, Dr. Zhang inspires those around him to move beyond participation and take a stakeholder position—to contribute ideas, take responsibility, and help shape what comes next.

Jack Hanna is a third-generation Syrian Arab American, retired attorney, and civic leader with more than 40 years of legal and community experience. His work has spanned civic engagement, social justice, public safety, and cross-community collaboration, including co-chairing Portland’s Building Bridges program.

Deeply passionate about Asian and Asian American history, Jack’s own exploration of his Syrian family’s roots and journey to America has strengthened his connection to the broader Asian American experience. He personally identifies strongly with his Asian American heritage and is committed to ensuring these diverse stories are recognized as part of America’s history.

His experience spans emotional intelligence, integrative health, public health, leadership development, and cross-cultural dialogue. Celine Fang serves as Executive Director of DOI250AA and Vice Chair of the National Event, bringing creative strategy, detailed planning, and hands-on execution to turn ambitious ideas into reality. Born in China and raised in the U.S. since age 13, with family roots across Southeast Asia, she brings a flexible cross-cultural perspective to her work.

As founder of Busi-Boost, Celine works across creative funding, marketing, branding, business planning, motivation, mindset, and resource development. Highly detail-oriented and analytical, she builds teams, drives outreach, and manages relationships with vendors, collaborators, partners, and community stakeholders.

She believes that mindset creates possibilities, strategy creates direction, and execution creates results.

Dr. Ji Su is a materials scientist at a NASA research center, Chair of the National Council of Chinese Americans, and a member of the VA–York250 Committee. For years, he has advanced Chinese American history, inclusion, civic participation, and cross-community collaboration.

As a DOI250AA Planning Committee member, Dr. Su helps track priorities, assess feasibility, strengthen organizational frameworks, coordinate details, and turn ideas into workable plans. He contributes his time, resources, donations, and hands-on work wherever needed.

Drawing from his own professional and community experience, Dr. Su will also facilitate conversations on how Asian American scientists and professionals can strengthen their sense of belonging, confidence, and participation in the workplace.

Wenbin Yuan is a grounded “lead from behind” leader who combines humor, thoughtful writing, and decades of community service. An environmental engineer and construction contractor for 28 years, he managed more than $100 million in government and private projects while learning how to bring diverse people, organizations, and stakeholders together.

Wenbin helped found the Milwaukee Chinese School, Milwaukee Chinese Community Center, Milwaukee Chinese Times, and Wisconsin Chinese Chamber of Commerce. As co-author of Chinese in Milwaukee, he is passionate about preserving Chinese American history.

For DOI250AA, Wenbin draws inspiration from the 14th Amendment and the history of Asian Americans becoming part of America’s civic story. He hopes to document this gathering so today’s participation becomes tomorrow’s history.

With an MBA in Finance from NYU and more than 22 years of global financial services leadership, Lewis also brings extensive international perspective. He previously helped lead the national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act.

At DOI250AA, Lewis supports press relations, public messaging, national coordination, and connections with participants from previous initiatives, while helping the team better understand America’s constitutional and civic systems.

Director Wang Jiao brings more than 35 years of experience in film, television, stage arts, education, and large-scale production across China, the United States, and Europe. A filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer, she has worked with major media organizations including CCTV, NBC, and the Discovery Channel, bringing extensive experience in visual storytelling and complex productions.

Her work spans award-winning films, television, documentaries, and major cultural productions. With an MBA from Georgetown University and a Doctorate in Film Arts from American University, she combines creative vision with strong operational discipline.

Ellen Qiongzhao Schicktanz is an internationally recognized Chinese American sculptor, painter, and curator whose work connects art, history, culture, and civic understanding. With a PhD in literature and art history, her monumental works depict defining moments in American history, including Washington Crossing the Delaware and the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. Her artwork has been exhibited or collected by prominent institutions in the United States and internationally.

Mayor Johnny Ford’s life and leadership are deeply connected to the American civil rights story. Born in Taiwan and raised in an entrepreneurial family, Karen Huang came to America at 15. After earning her marketing degree in Sacramento, she built a successful career in sales before returning to Taiwan, where she built an entire marketing department from the ground up as its sole team member.

At 30, newly married, Karen left her career at its peak and returned to America to start over. Facing an unexpected setback, she walked out with one unwavering conviction: she could do it herself. That pivotal moment led her to discover her true calling in digital marketing and entrepreneurship.

Today, with 18 years of experience, Karen is the founder of CH Web Media, creator of Local Reach 360, and founder of All About The Bay, a nonprofit community empowering Bay Area entrepreneurs. Dr. Raymond Douglas Chong (Zhang Weiming) is a public historian, journalist, and creative producer based in Sugar Land, Texas. A sixth-generation American-Born Chinese with roots dating to the California Gold Rush, he has documented the “Zhang Clan Odyssey,” a multigenerational Chinese American story spanning from the Transcontinental Railroad era to 1940s San Francisco.

As a freelance writer for AsAmNews, Dr. Chong explores AAPI history and experience, drawing from extensive research and his own family’s connections to historic Asian American communities.

A featured collaborator with My China Roots, he is Principal of Generations, LLC, executive producer of MY ODYSSEY – Between Two Worlds, a licensed Professional Engineer, and a Specially Appointed Professor at Shandong Jiaotong University, bringing together genealogy, history, storytelling, and technical expertise.

Charles Lu came to America as part of an early generation of Chinese immigrants following China’s Reform and Opening Up. Trained in avionics engineering, he worked at McDonnell Douglas on the research, development, and management of major aerospace projects before beginning his entrepreneurial journey.

He went on to build successful businesses across insurance, restaurants, and tourism. For more than two decades, Charles has devoted his time, resources, and leadership to community service, public welfare, cultural exchange, and greater Chinese American participation in broader American society. As Founder and Chairman of Infinity Hospitality Group, he has built businesses and partnerships while connecting entrepreneurs, industries, and communities across the country.

For decades, Andy has also invested his experience and relationships in community development, cultural heritage, and strengthening Chinese American participation in American society. His contributions have earned Congressional and state recognition, the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and recognition among the 2025 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business.

Andrew (Andy) Toy is a longtime Philadelphia community and economic development leader whose work connects neighborhoods, opportunity, economic mobility, and civic participation. He currently leads Philadelphia’s Home Appraisal Bias Program and has helped advance major community projects, immigrant entrepreneurship, minority business development, and investments across the city.

A third-generation member of the Toy family, with five generations of U.S. roots, Andy brings both professional and personal perspective to the Asian American experience. He believes understanding American history alongside our own family and cultural histories can help Asian Americans navigate belonging and participation with greater confidence.

Asha was born in India as one of seven siblings and built a life centered on education, family, community, and lifelong learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, completed teacher training, and later became a certified Montessori teacher in Chicago while her children were attending Montessori schools.

Her journey has also included teaching ESL, owning and operating a neighborhood retail business, and serving as President of the Club of Indian Women. A mother of two and grandmother of three, Asha remains active through bridge, travel, and social activities. At DOI250AA, she brings the perspective of an immigrant, educator, mother, entrepreneur, and community participant whose American journey has been shaped through everyday involvement and connection.

Vivek Singhal is a member of the DOI250AA leadership team and author of Dominion and Dharma, exploring civilizational values, responsibility, participation, and belonging. Educated at IIT Delhi and in the United States, with advanced studies at the University of Michigan and University of Chicago, he brings a cross-cultural and systems-level perspective to complex questions.

Vivek contributes to DOI250AA through thoughtful dialogue, reflection, and a strong focus on ethics, accountability, shared responsibility, and how we participate in society. Wei Chen’s journey from a 15-year-old Chinese immigrant student to a prominent Philadelphia civic leader is deeply connected to the city’s Asian American civil rights story. After experiencing violence and institutional neglect at South Philadelphia High School, he helped lead a historic student movement that brought communities together to demand change.

His work continued beyond that moment—from mobilizing Chinatown voters and building multiracial alliances to advancing AAPI political participation and later serving as Chair of Pennsylvania’s Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. He has remained engaged in protecting Philadelphia’s Chinatown and ensuring communities have a voice in decisions affecting their future.

Delegate Lily Qi represents District 15 in Montgomery County in the Maryland House of Delegates. Today, she chairs both the House Economic Development Subcommittee and the Maryland Legislative Asian American & Pacific-Islander Caucus.

Jiayin believes technical excellence alone does not automatically lead to leadership. Daniel J. Sieh is a Chinese American public historian with more than 14 years of experience working with museums and historic sites across the East Coast. Born and raised in a Chinese American family in Brazil, Daniel brings a distinctive cross-cultural perspective to American history. He earned his history degree from the College of William & Mary and a master’s degree from American University.

As a professional historian at Colonial Williamsburg and historical interpreter at Claude Moore Colonial Farm, Daniel researched Asian Americans in the American Revolution, bringing overlooked stories and contributions to life through lectures, presentations, and living-history demonstrations. Today, he lives in Washington, D.C., where he works as a Financial Manager for Freddie Mac while continuing his work as a public historian.

Rudy Recile is a Filipino American whose life reflects service, responsibility, perseverance, and commitment to country. The son of a single immigrant mother who worked to bring her family from the Philippines to the United States, Rudy went on to serve 26 years as a U.S. Army officer, including executive-level responsibilities from operational units to the Pentagon.

After retiring from the Army, he continued public service with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, contributing to a combined 33 years of federal government experience. He is also a small-business owner and remains active in veterans and community organizations.
